Prologue
"I'm so in love with another women. I've been
waiting so long for her and we've just been having problems. I shouldn't have
toyed with your heart. I'm so sorry. I love
the women though, I need her. All of her. I don't want to lose her.
She's everything to me. And I've gone so freaking long already waiting and I
can continue to. I just got distracted. I'm so sorry if this hurts you."
Stacee read
the note over and over again until she realize that he
was really gone. How could a man that
spend so much time with her, be living a lie? The time they shared seem
anything but fabricated. But the note was the only sign of him, since his phone
was off. Stacee
smoothed her natural hair away from her face. She dropped the note on the floor
and walked out of the bedroom. Maybe she shouldn't have said I love you after a
month.
Still, she stood in the kitchen in disbelief,
maybe it wasn't meant to be. Something in her gut told her that he wasn't the
one from the start, but she simply ignored her intuition. Matthias Lowe, couldn't hurt her or be in love with another woman. He
only seem to be into
her, but she quickly realize it was all
a game. That stupid five date rule got her here in the first place. She should
have never told him about the book she read. Because obviously after he got the
cookie, he ran.
Chapter One
"Will you take Derrick
Leroy Roads to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The southern baptist preacher said, in front of the two lover birds.
Everyone knew that this was a love match made in heaven and they were prefect
for each other.
Stacee
tried her best to keep up appearance, because she ached to one day be someone's
wife. After the whole Matthias fiasco, she swore off of white men. Assuming she
was cursed for dating interacially. She never wanted to look at another, if she
could help her. She didn't realize how bad it was for a man to walk out of her
life, without him really explaining. Who in their right mind leaves a note
without saying a word. She rolled her eyes in disgust
at the thought.
Destiny gently patted her face to avoid
smudging her flawless makeup. "I do." Her smile made her soon to
be husband, weak in the knees. Destiny
wore a long white strapless Vera Wang gown with a long train. Her diamonds
earrings matched her necklace.
Destiny's wedding was absolutely to die for,
she argued with everyone about her odd wedding colors aqua blue,
and pale yellow. From the flowers, to
the bridesmaid dress, everything was perfect. When they were little girls,
Destiny talked about her dream wedding and now it was a reality.
"And will you take Destiny
Simone Parker to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The preached said.
Derrick's words got caught in his throat and
he started crying. "I
do..." He held her hand tighter,
and never took his eyes off of her. Only a real man that was
truly in love, cried at his own wedding. The congregation immediately
said "Aww" in unison, like they
rehearsed to say it.
Stacee
smiled at her best friend, she couldn't help but love being with her. Every since middle
school, they had formed a pack to always protect each other. The girls were always together until they both
got accepted into different colleges but that couldn't keep them apart. They always visited each other on the weekend.
As the couple walked down the aisle and
everyone cheer , yet someone kept staring at Stacee. She hated being stared at, especially when she had
braces and glasses in middle school. But now, her teeth were perfect and
straight and she wore contacts. Her mother always said she blossomed into a
beautiful black woman. No one could argue that but the stares she got was unwanted.
Her eyes met with Derrick's best man Greg, a
tall, dark, and handsome man. She had only seen him a few times at the dinner
party and rehearsal but she made a vow she wouldn't date anymore men like him.
He wasn't her type, well she didn't really have a type but she couldn't do it.
She broke the stare, focusing on the
beautiful couple getting into the limo. The wedding party had to ride together
in the following limo. Great.. I'm going to be stuck in the limo with this asshole,
staring me down.
She made a beeline to the limo, trying her hardest to
avoid sitting next to Greg, but somehow he caught up to her and followed her
into the limo.
"What are you running from
the cops?" He teased her. He stared at
her leading down to her budding breasts. He couldn't help but notice how
beautiful she looked in that dress.
She chuckled. "Keep your eyes off of my
breasts. I don't want to have to use my pepper spray on the best man."
