"Penny!" he finally broke his lips
away.
"What?!" I asked, slightly annoyed.
"I... I have something to tell you,"
he said as he pushed me away.
Now I was really annoyed, how could he leave
a hot and bothered woman like me hanging like that?
"Before we go any further, I have two
secrets I must share. I think it's only courteous that I let you know."
I sighed, "Alright, out with it then,
what is it?"
"My first, less important secret, is
that I'm bi," he said.
"Okay, so what? You like me right?"
my voice trailed off.
Wait. I heard a little voice in my head say.
If coming out of the closet for him is a 'less important secret', what was the
more important one?
I looked back Louis as his shadow somehow
moved and loomed on his own. What, the, fuck was that? Fresh adrenaline pumped
within me as I staggered back from Louis. My mouth open, I frantically warmed
up my vocal cords, preparing to scream.
"Look, it's alright, relax," Louis
reassured as his shadow suddenly behaved itself again.
"The truth is, I'm actually a seven
hundred year old vampire."
A what? Vampires exist?
"Y-you're not going to bite my neck and
kill me now are you?" I ventured cautiously, my eyes hurriedly scanning
the office for something, anything that I could use to defend myself. I found
nothing in sight.
"Penny... I can read minds, and I can move
faster than you think. If I wanted you dead you'd be dead already."
"Well that's not very comforting,"
I replied candidly.
