Mind Blown
"She looks like a sweet girl?"
"Yeah she does."
"I don't like sweet girls."
"Should we make her less sweet?"
"I think so. I'm
getting bored of this place already."
"But you'd be less bored if she
wasn't so sweet?"
"Yeah, that more or less sums it
up."
This was two people, two female,
identical twins. But not physically talking. They were talking to each other
telepathically, but no-one would ever know that. They looked weird - super
weird even. And yet not at the same time. They looked aloof, very polished,
very aware of their surroundings.
"Think we'll be able to tune in to
her?"
"I'm already there, but she doesn't
know it yet."
"Hold then, let me try before we
introduce ourselves."
"Okay."
"Yeah got her. Pretty mind as well
as a pretty face, and body."
"I don't
like pretty face, body and mind all in one person. I think we
need to fuck her up, don't you?"
"I think so. But looking at her, it's where to start is the question?"
There was this back and forth to
this non existent conversation that was almost surreal. Actually,
it wasn't almost surreal at all, it was completely surreal.
"We can have some
fun first. Looks like she's been stood up, for a date
or something?"
"Maybe. Let me introduce us, see
what her reaction is."
"Safe to say her reaction will be
like nothing else we've seen. I don't
think we ever saw the same reaction in two different people?"
"You're
right. I love being me, don't you love being you?"
And they looked at each other and
smiled. This was two stunning identical twins. Even though they were seated, there was this sense of tallness about them.
There was this sense of 'height'. It was as though they'd been folded, perfectly into their seats. Long nylon
sheathed legs were crossed and they sat semi-facing
each other. The long slender hands and fingers were perfectly manicured, the
long nails with a deep red colour that matched full cherry lips.
"I love being 'us'.
That's what I love,"
"Yeah me as well."
They were the sort of feminine
vision that would always attract first, second and third looks from men, and
boys with big ambitions maybe. But it was difficult to
age the twins. On first look they could've been still
in their teens. But a second look and that would be dismissed.
They were too well presented, too confident in how
they looked as women, to be teenagers. And maybe that third look would dispel
the notion that they could've been in their twenties.
That wasn't such an out and out dismissal. Maybe late twenties, possibly early thirties. That was more
like it, early thirties. The longer one looked at these twins, the more
unlikely it became that they were real. The perfection went deeper than skin.
And there was this aura around them that invited looks, that invited and craved
attention even.
"Watch her carefully...."
The one twin communicated with her
sister and both their heads turned so they were looking directly at the girl,
"Hello Sammy, you don't know me,
I'm Nina, and this is my sister Naomi."
That was all Nina said. What was
astounding was that already they knew this girl's name. More understandable possibly was Sammy's reaction. She sat upright, bolt
upright, and looked around her. She'd heard the voice
and it was so clear, so filled with clarity, that to her it must've been like
someone was talking directly into her ear. There was no-one around her. Or
anyone near her.
"Hi Sammy. And I'm
Naomi. It's a pleasure to meet you; you're such a
pretty girl."
And there was that moment again.
That very precise moment where Sammy heard another voice. It was similar to the first, but there was this slight difference,
enough to know it was two different people. And yet there was no-one around
her.
"I know, you're
confused as to what's happening. That always happens that does. You don't need answer by speaking. Just by thinking. Nina was in
the process of dumbing Sammy down, so that she didn't
do anything stupid, like call for help.
This was always the 'exciting' part
this was; when the twins didn't know exactly how their
victim would react.
"I don't
understand. W-who is this?"
Poor girl was
bemused, and yet she was following the instructions to the letter. She wasn't speaking out loud, she was simply thinking her
answer. And yet at the same time it was freaking her out.
"We just want to play with you for
a little while, is that ok?"
Naomi infiltrated the brain of
Sammy again.
"No, I don't
want to be played with. Leave me alone."
Nina interjected,
"It wasn't
a request Sammy. We're being polite and telling you we're
going to play with you for a while. Of course, there are two ways we can do
this - the hard way and the easy way. You can choose?"
Nina had upped that imaginary voice
in tone and that seemed to shake Sammy a little more.
"What if I don't
want to be played with? I don't understand what's
happening here. Please stop doing this."
"Like she said, there's
an easy way and a hard way. Maybe you only get to
choose once. After that, it's game on."
Naomi had her own level of sinister
inside this girl's mind.
"Sammy, have you ever had a
headache so bad that you'd rather die than feel it?"
Nina was playing good cop, kind of.
"No, no I haven't and what sort of
question is that?"
Sammy was losing it a little bit.
But that was understandable. She kept looking round to see who was speaking to
her, in her head. But there was no-one. Just an old couple at a window seat of
the cafe. And then a goth-punk type girl with black lipstick with her ear buds
in. Her head was nodding to music only she could hear. Then the two women,
smart, professional looking women who looked like twins. They were in their own
conversation together and their eyes didn't even come
over to Sammy.
