Patrick and I have been together for two years. That's a lot of investments in time and emotion and I can't walk away but I need to do something because I caught him, literally, with his pants down with Ellen Fisher.



I had left a paper I was writing on the desk in the back of the house because I left in such a hurry that morning. Patrick would be home finishing his master thesis. Ellen Fisher is a mutual friend who is a sophomore in college and struggling with her math. She mentioned to both of us she might stop by for some quickie tutoring. 



I came into the back door because I walked home from the office only three blocks away. I figured I'd sneak into the back and grab my paper and be on my way. But upon approaching the house, I saw Ellen's convertible in the driveway and intended to say hi before trotting back to the office. What I didn't realize is that I'd be interrupting something.



I am quiet when I walk through the house and rounding the corner I stood in the hall overlooking the den in the split-level home. They don't realize I'm there and I was about to announce my arrival until I heard Ellen say, "I have a crush on you."
