Katrina tied on her new apron, the crisp words Green Apple Café embroidered across the top in white against the bold green color. She smiled at her reflection in the mirror. The green apron set off her green eyes and her auburn hair hung in soft ringlets at her shoulders. Tracy and Michaela voted for the uniforms to be khaki pants with a white T-shirt with the emblem of the café on the front. The crisp green aprons matched perfectly as the logo was green as well with the outline of a green apple in the background. For twenty-three she felt extremely blessed to have the funds and knowledge to open her own business, although she was only one-third owner with Tracy and Michaela.

"I know why you chose green for the aprons, not because of the name, but because it matches your eyes perfectly," Michaela said as she beamed a broad smile at her partner and friend. Michaela stood shorter than Katrina, but packed as much punch and knowledge in with the trio. She shook her head, her flaxen hair cascading around her shoulders. It hung in a soft under curl, being mostly straight and fine.

Tracy waltzed in having come in fresh from the beauty salon. Her short brunette hair styled in a way revealing her ears with her splattering of diamond studs that lined her left ear. Smiling brightly, her red lips pursed as she viewed her partners. "Well, we couldn't call the place the blue apple to match your eyes, Michaela," Tracy said as the three friends laughed. Tracy was almost thirty and the oldest of the trio, but she'd been a good friend since she'd started college later in her mid-twenties. All three had a business degree and pooled their funds to open the café.

Tracy produced a bottle of champagne and popped the top. "Oh! Celebration time," Michaela said and clapped her hands as she searched for three glasses. "We don't have champagne glasses, so these must do." She produced three water goblets.
"Yes, this calls for celebration. The café looks wonderful. I've handed flyers all over town and put in an ad on the radio and newspaper. When we open in the morning, we'll be inundated with customers," Tracy said confidently.

"From your lips...." Katrina said as she raised her goblet of champagne. They clicked the glasses and took a sip. "Tastes the same even if it's not in a champagne glass."

"Let's see how well we handle it with just us. If we need to hire someone else, we can. I mean this is a simple café not a full-fledged restaurant. All our items are on the board above the counter. How complicated can it get?" Katrina asked.

"We'll see. I'm hoping we'll be so busy we must hire at least one assistant. We'll take turns cooking, serving, and all three of us will clean. It should go well," Tracy said. The woman took it upon herself to be the leader of the trio, but both Katrina and Michaela were head strong for business matters.
