The
DA sighs, "The matter descended into emotion and the police acted on emotion."
My
lawyer sighs and lectures the DA, "Mr. James Till is
not a trained lawyer. Mr. James Till is a computer programmer, a logic designer. Mr. James Till has
pointed out to me that the four employees of the Lozenge Corporation had their
medical bills paid for by the Lozenge Corporation medical insurance and the
same four employees of the Lozenge Corporation were paid for the time that they
spent attacking Mr. James Till. The
expenses of the four employees of the Lozenge Corporation were ultimately paid
by the United States government. That
last is clearly fraud upon the United States government. Now, any attorney would immediately see that
attacking a powerful corporation such as the Lozenge Corporation is something
that is just not to be done. I tried to
explain the matter to Mr. James Till.
Mr. James Till then pointed out to me that the
Lozenge Corporation is currently actively trying to inflict bodily harm,
perhaps death on him. Mr. James Till also pointed out to me that the Lozenge Corporation is
currently forcing him to live what is basically a hermit lifestyle. What does James Till
have to lose by attacking a powerful corporation such as the Lozenge
Corporation?"
The
DA sighs, "Mr. James Till is listed as co-counsel for
the legal matters involving him. He has
no idea how things run in such matters.
It could be trouble. I will talk
with the Police Chief and the counsel for the Lozenge Corporation."
My
lawyer sighs, "Despite losing his salary at the Lozenge Corporation, Mr. James Till has amassed considerable financial capital. He speculates in the stock market. One of the things that he uses as vehicles
for his speculation is the stock of the Lozenge Corporation. When the investigation of defrauding the
federal government becomes known, likely the stock price of the Lozenge
Corporation will drop and puts for the said stock will rise in price. Mr. James Till will
make what they call in investment circles a bundle."
The
DA sighs, "Exactly what is it that you want me to do?"
My
lawyer sighs, "The Lozenge Corporation has created a problem that neither they
nor you can solve. Mr. James Till has a partial solution, that's legal and that will
work. I have the remainder of the
solution."

"I'm
the District Attorney, for this judicial district. You are the CEO of a major company, in the
district. Some time back, one of your
people tried to force James Till to relocate to some
sort of operation out at White Sands Missile Range, in New Mexico. Mr. Till refused the assignment and then quit
his employment at the Lozenge Corporation.
Your management did not take Mr. Till's refusal well and, according to
Court documents, tried to prevent Mr. Till from gaining employment. There was a Court case, in which Mr. Till
prevailed over the Lozenge Corporation.
The Lozenge Corporation refused to pay the judgment and appealed. The Lozenge Corporation lost several appeals
and still refuses to pay the judgment.
The Lozenge Corporation insurers have paid some of the judgment, but
quite a sum remains to be paid. Mr. Till
has been physically threatened by Lozenge Corporation employees. The final act of that played out when four
Lozenge Corporation employees attacked Mr. Till, in front of witnesses. The police, the Courts and my office are not
going to stand for any more of that. Do
you understand?"
The
CEO replies, "The Lozenge Corporation is a very political operation. One of my former employees had some sort of
clash with Mr. Till. It then apparently
got out of hand. I can't watch each of
my employees, on a continuous basis."
The
District Attorney lectures, "We have a City Building Department. If we have to, we can have building
inspectors go through each of the major company buildings, to insure compliance
with each and every one of the city requirements. I mean building codes, fire codes, electrical
codes, that sort of thing. Fail a major
test and we shut the facility down."
The
CEO thinks for a few moments and replies, "The Lozenge Corporation is a very
political operation. I can make sure
that none of my employees try to harass Mr. James Till."
The
District Attorney lectures, "That's a start.
We also have to make sure that some outside person doesn't try to harass
Mr. James Till. No one who's not in the
pay of the Lozenge Corporation has any reason to harass Mr. James Till. If someone who's not in the pay of the
Lozenge Corporation tries to harass Mr. James Till, the trail leads right back
to the Lozenge Corporation."
The
CEO thinks for a few moments more and replies, "The Lozenge Corporation is a
very political operation. By now,
several of my employees probably think that it's a good career move to harass
Mr. James Till. I'll do what I can."
The
District Attorney lectures, "That's why I'm here. My people will prosecute, to the limit of the
law, anyone who tries to harass Mr. James Till and/or anyone who encourages the
harassment of Mr. James Till. Anyone who
tries to harass Mr. James Till and/or anyone who encourages the harassment of
Mr. James Till will be prosecuted to the limit of the
law and then they will go to prison, not jail, prison. You need to promulgate the information
throughout the Lozenge Corporation."
The
CEO thinks for a few moments more and replies, "Why are you so concerned with a
nobody, like Mr. James Till?"
The District Attorney sighs and
lectures, "Nobody Mr. James Till, has several million dollars. Nobody Mr. James Till, has used some of his
several million dollars to hire the best attorney in town. Nobody Mr. James Till, will use some of his
programmer training and the services of the best attorney in town to sue and
win several more million dollars. The
fallout of nobody Mr. James Till's lawsuits will very
probably be the destruction of the Lozenge Corporation.
