Chapter 1

'I can hear you, so you may as well come out of from where you are hiding and show yourself to me!' The tall man dressed all in white bellowed as he stood up from where he was sitting outside from his cottage.

'I was not hiding...I was actually trying not to disturb you from your painting,' Bethany told a white lie as she walked to the side of the large tree she had been spying from behind.

'Well, you did not do a very good job of it.'

'Good job?!' Bethany felt her cheeks grow all warm as she felt the stranger's gaze in her direction with interest.

'Of not disturbing me...I think a bear would have been more subtle, you have made me now lose my concentration.'

'Excuse me! Are you trying to insinuate that I am louder and clumsier than a bear?' Bethany spoke now with anger.

'And are you saying that you are not...have you even ever seen a bear before?' The man refused to back down.

'No, I haven't...but I have read about such creatures...I am not stupid I know you mean to insult me. And you know what I will not be voicing the apology I was just about to make you...especially on a count that I can remember just a few days ago you doing the same thing as I, and watching me when I was out riding.'

'You are quite outspoken for a lady aren't you?!...I'm sorry...please don't go,' the man changed the direction of his conversation on noting Bethany turning her back to him.
