Chapter 1

 

'Ok, you win Chris!' Scarlett sighed, resigning herself to her fate.

'I win? What exactly am I winning?'

'Please, let's not play this game. You know I am at your complete mercy.'

Chris did not reply, making Scarlett more frustrated. It had taken a lot out of her to come over to see him. Every part of her had resisted against the journey to his home, right up to the point when she had knocked at his door. Even then, she had wanted to flee, but she had not run away. She was determined to make everything better for the ones she loved.

'You...win... ME! For a set time, anyway!' Her words were now having an effect, as his eyes went darker with intensity on hearing her words.

'I think you better come in,' he said.

She walked with him to a luxurious, spacious room where he invited her to sit down on the big brown sofa where he joined her. She tried not to think of him as relaxing in the room when she was not here, doing normal things. She wanted to say what she had come for and then leave as quickly as she possible could.
