Chapter 1
Charlotte could feel her heart beating fast in her breast
as her eyes fixed upon the dashing, tall figure of William the Marquess of Chester leaning against a tree in
contemplation. She did not know how it was possible but William looked even more
handsome than she had remembered from when she had last set her eyes upon him
just over three years ago.
She could not help producing a warm smile as she took
time to reacquaint herself with his broody and romantic appearance which
consisted of a set of dazzlingly green eyes and strong jaw lined face, framed
with thick wavy dark brown hair that made her heart go all giddy.
It came as no surprise but with a little irritation to Charlotte
that William was a great hit with the ladies of society as she had been told
from several very reliable sources, one being William's own sister. She
consoled herself that her own admiration and connection to William was not the
same in comparison to the other women who were eager for his favour, for she
did not like William just for his outer exterior, but adored the whole person
that he was, which included the caring nature he had shown her time and time
again in her past.
