'Please Marc let go of me, you're hurting my wrist,' Claudia gasped out as she saw the furious expression on Marc's face.

'How could you Claudia? Do you know how angry I felt when I heard your happy announcement?' Marc spoke sarcastically. 'You're lucky I didn't deck Oliver then and there, before carrying you out of that hall over my shoulders away till you saw sense.'

'You wouldn't have dared, not in front of everyone?!' Claudia stepped back as she spoke to find that she was practically pinned against the Earl and a large tree behind her.

'Oh wouldn't I, just try me again with the absurd stunt you tried to pull today.'

Claudia shivered sensing that the Earl of Lakeworth was indeed capable of anything if he was pushed too far!

'What have I done that is so absurd, Oliver and I merely announced our engagement,' Claudia spoke weakly. She regretted her words as soon as she had said them, as she noted that Marc seemed to become even more aggravated than before.
