Chapter 1

'My Lord?!'

Daniel, the Earl of Brentwood, was a little bemused as he looked down at the ash blonde-haired beautiful woman who greeted him with a surprised expression on her face. Why she looked so startled he could not quite fathom, given that she had been the one to instigate their private meeting.

'Mrs. James.' He smiled as he looked at her soft, welcoming lips. 'Are you not going to let me in?' He spoke calmly despite feeling his lust beginning to stir within him.

'Oh yes...what am I thinking? Please come in,' she spoke hurriedly as she stepped away from the door to let him into the room. 'Did anyone see you coming here?' She sounded worried.

'Madame, I am not sloppy. Rest assured that our secret will be safe. The others have retired to bed a good few hours ago. You can be at ease.' Daniel spoke confidently.

'Sorry, my Lord, there was no need for me to ask. I know you are quite experienced with this sort of thing....I don't know why, but I suddenly feel a little nervous now we are finally alone together.'

Daniel could tell that she was indeed flustered, as she fidgeted with her long night gown in front of him.
