Chapter 1

Jessica found herself distracted as she put her book down on her lap. She was then startled to be faced with one of the most attractive men she had ever set eyes upon. He had a pair of striking green eyes that were looking straight at her, a long prominent nose and a square-lined, chiselled jaw to complete his rugged look.

She had to mentally stop herself from staring and going all shy and weird in front of him, as he cast a big smile in her direction.

'Sorry, did you say something?' she asked the handsome stranger.

'I was just commenting on the weather. It's a lovely day, isn't it?' he replied in a deep, rich voice.

'Yes, I guess it is.' Jessica started to pick up her book once more, hoping he would get the hint that she was in no mood for conversation, even with him being such gorgeous stranger.

'Good book?' He sounded interested.

'Yes, it's a good read, thanks!' Jessica resisted the urge to be openly rude to him.

'You're not very chatty, are you?'

'Excuse me!' She looked at him with surprise, taken aback by his questioning. She wished now that she was not the only one sitting with him in the train carriage. 'Actually, I can be very conversational when I want to be, but, strangely enough, I don't find myself in a chatty mood when I am on the train talking to a complete stranger, not to mention that I would like to relax quietly, and grab a moment by myself, especially after having a difficult weekend!' Jessica could now not help but be rude.
