She moved to Canada from the United States with her family as a teenager in the 1960s, and won her first writing award at age eighteen in a national student writing contest. After various detours, she found a comfortable niche teaching first-year English courses in a Canadian prairie university, which allows time for her to write in several genres, including fiction, articles, reviews and opinion pieces, mostly on erotic and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender subjects. Luckily, her dual American-Canadian citizenship and support from the Ivory Tower make it easy for her to travel to writing events in larger cultural centers.
