STORY DESCRIPTION

Pretty but self-centred aspiring English model, Courtney Carpenter, working in Barovia, is arrested on suspicion of distributing radical and seditious literature and taken to Checkpoint One. But instead of the normal arrest process, she is stripped naked and cruelly restrained by masterful interrogator Ivanka Stefanik who seems intent on getting a confession by any means necessary. In desperation, Courtney demands to see the British ambassador, but instead she gets gentlemanly Sir Humphrey Chiltern, the local Honorary Consul. Soon she realizes that her only alternative to having her life and career ruined is to consent to the ancient Barovian legal code of permezatenci ??" permitted defilement.

With the Checkpoint short-staffed, Interrogator Ivanka convinces Chiltern that he should aid her in subjecting Courtney to a series of carefully chosen ordeals to test her plea of innocence. Moving between the Checkpoint dungeons, terrifying pleasure garden torments and hidden dens of vice in the twin cities of Strakensburg and Zilny, Courtney is subjected to all manner of painful trials and sexual humiliations.

Courtney knows is innocent of the charges against her, but she cannot prove it except through her courage and suffering. And even if she survives her ordeals, will she be the same person she was before this nightmare began? And if she is changed, will that be a bad thing?
