The hottest stories, written with care. The twistiest tales, with taboos teased.
Whether you like your stories long and langorous, brief and breathless, or dark and dirty, come with me on a journey into the crooked world of filth maven Paragonas Vaunt. External Reviews The whole Xenofestation series has been a darkly erotic tour de force, and this is my favorite entry so far. The setting takes a break from the high-tech laboratories and urban dystopia of the first few books to, for the most part, focus on a rural colony and a pair of characters who lend it more of a space western feel, again showing just how versatile Paragonas is at juggling all these different intersecting stories and perspectives. Beatriz and Sam are a couple that, in their own rather forthright way, share a very genuine and romantic bond, which raises the stakes for the horrors that inevitably befall them (this is Xenofestation, after all, not Little House on the Prairie Planet). This is perhaps the first time since the prologue that the characters have found themselves in real danger - not just weird impregnation or unsettling situations, but a life-or-death struggle - and the story takes care to let us get to know both of the leads so that their predicament hits all the harder. With a series like this one, and such a varied tone, there's a very authentic sense of uncertainty about what might happen next. Everyone could live happily ever after, or it might be the end of the universe. Either way, I can't wait to see what's next! (Smashwords) |
